Want to help
restore our windmill?
We
would like to invite local companies and individuals to take part
in our new campaign to raise the money
required to restore our windmill.
With our initial Lottery
bid being unsuccessful, we are looking for other ways of raising
the neccessary funds. Our plan is to break the whole programme of
works into smaller, more managebale and financially viable chunks,
inviting interested parties to sponsor elements of each project.
If seperate bodies sponsored just one item, together we would soon
be able to fully pay for the restoration. We are currently working
on renovating the cap, fantail and sail frames. More details of
the proposal and a brief breakdown of the costs can be found on
our cap restoration page.
If you are interested
in helping save an important part of Yorks heritage please take
time to look through the proposals. A PDF copy of the proposal will
be available for download soon. If you would like to discuss sponsorship
with the society, please contact Bob
Anderton, either by email at andertondesign@btconnect.com
or by telephone on 01904 795851.
Alternatively, if you wish to make a donation, please get in touch
with Bob, or you
could fill out a donation
form and send it directly to our treasurer, Peter
Graves.
As a mark of thanks for
all your support, a permanent display will be housed inside the
mill thanking all contributors. So please help us - sponsor a piece
of living history and make a difference.
