Holgate Windmill Open Days - Summer 2010
 

We will be opening our doors Sunday 25th April (11am-4pm) and Monday 26th April (6pm-8pm) for pre-season previews and then one weekend a month throughout Summer. All our opening dates are listed below. Please come along to take a look at the progress we are making on the restoration of the mill. There has been a great deal going on over the winter months, so there's alot to see.

A knowledgeable committee member will be present on each floor to give further information and answer any questions you may have. There will be displays and storyboards depicting the life story of the mill, and HWPS merchandise will be available to buy.

April : Sun 25th (day time) & Mon 26th (evening only: 6pm-8pm)
May: Sat 8th & Sun 9th
June: Sat 5th & Sun 6th
July: Sat 3rd& Sun 4th
August: Sat 7th& Sun 8th
September: Sat 4th& Sun 5th
October: Sat 2nd & Sun 3rd

Opening times: 11am to 4pm, unless otherwise specified.

HWPS members will be allowed free entry. There will be a charge of £3 for non members, or alternatively you can join the society on the day for £5 for a years indivdual membership or £8 for a years household membership. All profits go towards the mill restoration.


Unfortunately there is no disabled access to the windmill.

There is a WC and shop inside the mill

How to find us

Holgate Windmill is approximately one and a half miles west of York city centre in the Holgate district. There is ample parking at the kerbside in Acomb Road.

Please do not park in Windmill Rise as it is a narrow residential street and could easily become congested.

Number 1 buses go from the city centre (opposite the railway station or outside the Theatre Royal) and stop near to the mill in Acomb Road.
