There are plenty of ways for children to enjoy our windmill and we actively encourage “Mini Millers” to get involved. We offer a range of activities which are described below.
Mini Millers Activity sessions May-October
1 hour sessions to learn about the windmill and how it works. Sessions run monthly in May-Oct on 3rd Saturday of each month, 10am-11am. Each month follows a different theme to give children the widest appreciation of our windmill. See the Open days calendar for each month’s theme. Sessions are suitable for all ages (4yrs +) and costs £3 per child who must be accompanied by an adult. Places must be pre-booked as places are limited and pre-payment is required to secure bookings. To book, please email email@example.com.
Holgate Windmill Challenge Badge
Earn this award at home or at school, Brownies, Cubs, Mini Millers sessions etc. Complete activities in four categories of “Food & Baking”, “Design & Technology”, “History & Art” and “Get Crafty”. The embroidered badges cost £1.50 and can be purchased at the mill once achievements are complete. Download a copy of the Activity Sheet here for full details.
