News – what’s happening at the mill?

Our May open days will be Saturday & Sunday 5th & 6th, Bank Holiday Monday 7th, Saturday & Sunday 19th & 20th and Bank Holiday Monday 28th. Our special art exhibition for the month will feature work from some of the very talented artists involved with the mill. You may be familiar with their designs on cards, tea towels and bags in the mill but now you have the chance to see a wider range of their work. Wrap up warm and join us for a great weekend at the windmill. On Saturday our archives will be on display in the mill, So if you'e ever wondered about the history of the mill or of Holgate village come along to explore the documents, photographs and meet the mill historian from 11am - 4pm. On Sunday morning from 11am - 12pm join in the fun of pancake day at the mill, eat pancakes made with our own stone-ground flour and race around the mill. No booking is required for either event and usual entrance fees apply. £3 adults, £1 children (5 - 18yrs). Under 5s and HWPS members free. Holgate Windmill is proud to be taking part in York's Residents' First Weekend this year. Many attractions across the city will be open to York residents for free. See local press for other offers such as discounts at local restaurants and shops. The windmill will be open from 11am - 4pm on Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th January. Our mill shop is open every Saturday, 10am - 12pm, through the winter. We stock a great range of flour, mill merchandise, local honey and greeting cards, plus new for December a fabulous range of wooden items. Yorkshire company Hot Dot Laser have created a special range for Holgate windmill.
