Looking for a speaker for your local group? Why not treat your guests to something slightly unusual with an inspiring, educational talk by speakers from the Holgate Windmill Preservation Society. Richie and Helen give a lively and entertaining illustrated presentation on the Restoration and Milling at Holgate Windmill covering all aspects through from the History of the mill, the Restoration process which transformed it into a working mill, the current Milling process and includes a short video of the working mill. The presentation can be tailored to your audience if your group has a particular interest e.g. engineering, local history etc. or we can cover everything.
Feedback from past talks “Wow, it is unbelievable how much your volunteers have achieved“, “I never knew there was so much fascinating work on our doorstep“, “Fantastic talk, thoroughly enjoyed this session“.
The standard talk usually lasts around 45 minutes but this can be altered to suit your group’s requirements. We can usually attend on any day or evening of the week. There is no charge for the talk but we ask for a suggested donation of around £30-£50 with all proceeds going towards the upkeep of the windmill.
